I hired The Boston Rovers for my fiancé’s 30th Birthday at our house as I was planning an “Irish Pub” themed party. Jim and the band were AMAZING! Everyone loved their energy, talent, and also funny banter with the crowd! They really got the party going and no one wanted them to leave! They made sure they communicated with me throughout the whole process and made sure it was just how I wanted . I can’t thank them enough for a truly wonderful night! If you are looking for an Irish Band, definitely consider the Boston rovers!

We had a small family gathering at my house. The Boston Rovers were very friendly and had us laughing all night. My request to end the party with a family favorite, made the evening special. My family wants to make this a yearly tradition! A fun time was had by all!!!

Kind,friendly and extremely talented!
We had the pleasure of having the Boston Rovers play in our backyard for a suprise 35th anniversary party and they were an absolutely a hit. We were told by a couple that the best part of the surprise was the band!All the guests were dancing and singing along to familiar pub music,making it feel like we were truly in Ireland.
Jim was wonderfuly to work with.He was extremely responsive to or question,and attentive to our requests. You can tell Jim,Alan and Taylor all have a true passion for what they do.We would love to hire them again in the future! (review from Gigsalad)

The Boston Rovers played a St Patricks Day party at our house. What a fun night we had! They played upbeat Irish music and everyone loved their performance. On top of being talented musicians they were fun and engaging with our guests. Jim was great to work with for booking and logistics. We would highly recommend The Boston Rovers!.

The Rovers played my Mom's memorial at the end of August. James responded promptly to my request and was kind, genial, accommodating, and professional. The 'lads' were also a pleasure and all very talented. Their set list and banter struck the perfect tone. Our guests enjoyed them immensely. Jim and the Boston Rovers were absolutely wonderful. Hired them to play my 40th birthday party at a bar in Malden and the experience couldn't have been better. They played some old favorites, some sea chanties, classics, covers and even one Van Halen song for me. Alan Hicks has played and sung traditional and folk music for over 50years and was a co-founder of Georges's Attick Coffehouse at Tuffs University in the late 1960's. As an original member of the Jolly Rogues Alan Performed all over NewEngland and in Germany,England and China.Alan plays guitar,bass,banjo and mandolin and has been a prfoessional church musicaian for over half a century.

Taylor Whiteside performed for many years both as a solo folksinger and in the Irish band Northeast Winds, which opened for The Clancy Brothers on their US tours from 1985 through 2000. He also played backup for Tommy Makem during Tommy's solo years. He also is a member of The Brandywine Singers, a folk quartet that was big in the Sixties, (now we're all well over sixty – no, scratch that) and performs frequently with The Shaw Brothers (New Hampshire's "ambassadors of folk"). For several years he performed in Newfoundland in clubs and on the CBC. He has also worked with Irish tenor John McNally, The Kingston Trio, Crystal Gayle, Peter Yarrow and Paul Stookey, Maloney, O'Connell and Keane, The Highwaymen, The Brothers Four, Jim Kweskin, Patrick Sky, Norman Blake, Dave Mallett, Utah Phillips, Josh White, Jr.
